Capi: Focus & Study Timer Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 10, 2026

Capi: Focus & Study Timer ("the app") is developed by Pasteuri ("we," "us," "our"). This policy explains what information the app collects, why, and what your choices are. It applies to the Android, iOS, and desktop versions of the app, and to our website.

1. Information we collect

Account information. Creating an account is required to use the app. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address, display name, and profile photo URL. If you sign in with email and password, we receive your email address; your password is handled entirely by Firebase Authentication and we never see or store it in plain text.

Session and progress data. Your focus session history (start/end times, duration, and whether a session was completed or ended early), the apps you chose to block during each session, and the streak, level, and experience points derived from that history.

Buddy and study-group data. If you connect with other users ("buddies") or join a shared study goal, we store the connection itself, your chosen username, and your contribution toward any shared goal you join, so it can be shown to the other members of that goal.

Device sync identifier. A random identifier generated on your device the first time you use the app, used only to coordinate your own active session across your own signed-in devices. It is not derived from your device's hardware ID or any advertising identifier, and is not used to identify you across other apps.

Time zone. Your device's current time zone, used to evaluate day boundaries correctly for streaks.

Subscription information. If you subscribe to the paid tier, the purchase itself is processed entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play billing systems. Our subscription-management vendor, RevenueCat, receives your subscription status and entitlement state, never your payment card details.

Early-access waitlist (website only). If you enter your email address in the early-access form on our website, we store that address and the time you submitted it. We use it for one thing: to email you when the app is available to download. It is not added to a marketing list, is not shared with anyone, and is stored separately from app accounts — joining the waitlist does not create an account.

2. Android Accessibility Service

On Android, the app uses the Accessibility Service API to detect when you open an app you've chosen to block while a focus session is running, so it can show the block screen. This service is active only while a session is running, does not read the content of your screen, and does not transmit any information off your device.

3. Crash and diagnostic data

On Android and iOS, we use Firebase Crashlytics to help us find and fix bugs. If the app crashes or encounters certain errors, Crashlytics automatically collects a crash report (stack trace, the point of failure) along with basic device and app information (device model, operating system version, app version, and a Firebase-generated installation identifier). This data is not linked to your name or email address, and is used solely to diagnose and fix technical problems.

4. What we do not collect

We do not use advertising SDKs or behavioral-analytics SDKs of any kind. We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not sell your data.

5. Third parties we use

6. Data retention and deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Settings > Delete account. Doing so permanently removes your account and everything held against it: your session history, streak record, XP, buddy connections, any shared study goals you were part of, your invite link, and your username, which then becomes available for someone else to claim. This cannot be undone.

Signing out is different from deletion: it only clears this device's local copy of your data, and everything is restored the next time you sign in.

Waitlist addresses are separate from accounts and are deleted once the app has launched and the notification has been sent, or sooner if you ask us to remove yours — email us at the address in section 9.

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. Purchase records held by Apple, Google, or RevenueCat are governed by their own retention policies, not this one.

7. Children's privacy

Capi: Focus & Study Timer is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region), and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated "Last updated" date.
